What does your best life look like?
Does it include a beach in the background, a place you can sink your toes into to ground yourself on your morning walks?
Do you prefer hiking through the mountains, taking in cool, crisp air?
Are you of service, helping people in ways you’ve always dreamed?
Do you own a business or work at a dream job?
How strong are the relationships in your life?
Can you say you’re living that life right now? Don’t worry if you’re not. Many people haven’t thought about “possibilities” in years. And if you aren’t asking the right questions, you’ll never move in the right direction to put it all into place.
Instead, many people stumble around, accepting things into their life simply because they are there. They take on responsibilities and fall into roles they don’t enjoy, out of necessity. And so things fall into place.
This is what brings on turmoil as you age. Because one day you wake up and wonder how you got there. That’s when you know it’s time to change.
There is freedom in discovering what your best life means to you. It gives you direction, helps you overcome obstacles that stand in your way, preventing you from getting from here to there.
Have you ever noticed it’s a lot easier seeing the things that were wrong when you look backward? But living in the muck can be tedious at best.
What happens if you look forward? If you picture your ideal life at some point in the future? By imagining your ideal life, it can start revealing some of those key spots that need changing and help direct you to what you need next.
For example, picture your ideal mornings. Do you see yourself walking along the beach, enjoying a cup of coffee before you begin your day? If you’re landlocked without an ocean in driving distance, it’s a little hard to accomplish your dreams. What would it take to get there? Could you move? And if so, where?
One question always leads to another. And another. And before long, you start seeing the potential.
