Is one of your resolutions to improve your social life this year?
When you have an already full life - work, kids, family - how do you find the time to make new friends too?
A social network is important to feel fulfilled. Having friends matters on every level, from feeling good, avoiding depression, to just keeping you active and happy throughout your week.
But where to find new friends is changing.
People are drinking less, especially millennials. That means heading out to the bar isn’t on the list of to-do’s.
People are also moving away from organized religion.
Increasingly, where they are turning to is personal wellness. A 2018 Global Wellness study recently showed the global wellness industry grew 12.8 percent in the last two years.
And why would you ever want to head out drinking after a workout makes you feel good?
If you can relate, maybe it’s time to up your participation in wellness training, and find others that enjoy it too.
Take what you love to the next level
Do you like your weekly meditation class? Are you really into yoga? Move beyond an app and find a club to help you take it to the next level. Then start looking for ways to practice your new skill in different ways. Why not sign up for a weekend retreat? Or destination travel to enjoy what you love for a week? There are many ways to further your knowledge and understanding of what makes you feel best.
Focus around you
Too often, we go about our daily lives trying to find the best fit for ourselves to stay within our comfort zones. We live in a very me, me, me society. But what often works better is if you become interested in those around you. Join classes not because you feel safe, but because you want to experience something new. Be interested in those in attendance. Ask questions and listen carefully. Stay open-minded and continuously learn.
How are you incorporating wellness into your new routines this year?
